let it snow

“Let It Snow” by Alicia King tells us the emotional story of Kat, a teenage girl who is quietly wrestling with the unseen demons of depression. Her life turns out to be a silent battle as she tries to cope with her pain through the deceptive comfort of drugs. Kat feels really lost and now struggles with her feelings, but her parents do not fully understand how hard it is for her. They give her medication, but they do not know just how deep her problems are. But then she meets Dominic, a kind-hearted individual whose empathy and support light up her life. Together, Kat and Dominic set out on a heartfelt journey towards achieving recovery and joy in their own possible ways. This story is more than just a depiction of Kat’s struggle with her own issues. It is really about how important friends are, how tricky dealing with mental health can really be, and the search for real joy. “Let It Snow” is the kind of touching story that shows us how strong we can be on our own and with the help of those people who always love us unconditionally.

“Let It Snow” is available now for readers to purchase on Amazon and other online stores. Will Kat be able to fight through her challenges and find her way to true happiness?

lil perp

This is a fictional story based upon someone who was real, but passed away. His real name was Gustav Elijah Ahr and his stage name was Lil Peep.
Lil Peep or (Lil Perp’s) one dream for a career is music. Then, unfortunately his girlfriend decides to split up with him. Then his parents decide to split up, so he decides to live with his mom. This makes him then decide to really try making music, well not music, but writing words to rap alongside music he’s sent. He had kind of tried once before, but just for enjoyment and nothing had come of it. But, on his second attempt, he basically blew up. The popularity of his first song inspires him to keep writing and writing and writing…
Pre-fame or success, he is quite into the drug scene, so of course he continues using throughout his fame. Until unfortunately he passes away due to drugs whilst on tour. Was it an accident or was it intentional? No one will ever know for sure, but this book paints an interesting story of how he got there.

Falling

‘Falling’ is a predominantly non-fiction book about the author’s life and it’s split into three parts. Drugs, because her life used to bleakly revolve around drugs, fall, because she fell, and salvation, because she’s now mentally ok. The protagonist’s story starts off with her in her mid to late teens, and finishes in her twenties, and the book has quite a conversational tone throughout. This makes the quite hard and dark series of events easier to read. It starts off, quite bleakly, with a suicide attempt, but invites readers to read on, and find out what happens to the protagonist. The reader quickly learns she’s addicted to smoking heroin with her boyfriend, and they even smoke it and get high during school hours. The reader also learns she starts snorting cocaine with her parents, and it becomes a fairly regular occurrence, after learning she’s been anally raped, it invites readers to empathise with the protagonist.

Then we learn she falls, a whopping 3 storeys, and as a result falls in to a coma. She’s in hospital, then gets transferred to a clinic. Until one day, very spur of the moment, she comes out of her coma, and wakes up.

The story then goes on to explore, the now disabled protagonist’s, who can’t eat or speak, journey towards a new normality, in a situation that is far from normal. She is quite physically damaged, but mentally all there, and the reader is invited to join the protagonist on the journey she makes to free herself of mental burdens. It also asks questions like was it a fall or jump? Because she had attempted to give up heroin shortly before she was injured. She also cuts off parents, and the book and her story ends quite happily. It is quite a bleak and dark tale, however, it has a fairly happy ending, well happy in comparison to rest of book. It’s a dark but honest read.
